What is the difference between Steviala Kristal Sweet and Ery-Pure? They are both sweeteners but what is the difference? We get this question more and more so we thought it was time to devote a blog to it.
Steviala Kristal Sweet
Steviala Kristal Sweet is a sugar substitute based on steviol glycosides, better known as sweetener from Stevia combined with the sweetener Erythritol. Kristal Sweet from Steviala is two times sweeter than sugar. Pure sweetener from Stevia like, for example in powder form, is less convenient for baking because of its high sweetness. Therefore, Steviala adds another sweetener of natural origin, called Erythritol. You probably know Erythritol allready, this is a sugar alcohol or polyol. You can find Erythritol in small amounts in some fruits and fermented products such as wine, cheese or mushrooms. Steviala's Erythritol is of European origin because Erythritol is often also produced in China.
Steviala Ery-Pure
Steviala Ery-Pure is a sugar substitute based on 100% pure Erythritol of European origin. So Ery-Pure does not contain any Steviol glycosides or sweetener from Stevia. Steviala Ery-Pure occurs naturally in small amounts in mushrooms, some fruits such as melons and fermented products such as wine and cheese. In addition, the major difference from Steviala Kristal Sweet is also that Ery-Pure is 30% less sweet versus sugar.
