A regular Snickers contains a lot of sugar and is a filled chocolate bar consisting of nougat, caramel, and roasted peanuts coated with chocolate. The bar is manufactured by the Mars company, which also makes Mars, Twix, Bounty, and Milky Way. Did you know that the Snickers bar has been around since 1929? With this delicious recipe, you can easily make low carb and sugarfree Snickers. It does take a bit more time, but you will be doubly rewarded! Are you excited to try it?

Low carb and sugarfree Snickers

Do you sometimes crave a healthy Snickers? One where the chocolate melts on your tongue and the caramel drips? Then you'll be just as happy as we are with this recipe for low carb and sugarfree Snickers. Yes, you read it right; these Snickers do not contain any added sugars. For the sugarfree caramel layer, Melanie from Meladolcevita used Steviala Ery-Bronze, a delicious brown sugar substitute with no calories or carbohydrates. In addition, the nougat contains our delicious syrup substitute, Steviala Heavenly Dark. That's a syrup substitute without added sugars, so it can also be used by people who need to watch their diet due to conditions like diabetes!

Ingredients

Low carb and sugarfree Snickers

Sugarfree nougat

  • 40 grams Steviala Heavenly Dark
  • 40 grams butter
  • 75 grams plain peanut butter
  • 10 grams vanilla extract
  • 50 ml whipping cream
  • Pinch of salt

Sugarfree caramel

  • 50 grams Steviala Ery-Bronze brown sugar substitute
  • 100 ml whipping cream
  • 50 grams Steviala Heavenly Dark syrup substitute
  • 50 grams butter
  • 100 ml cream
  • 50 grams chopped peanuts
  • Pinch of salt

Sugarfree chocolate

  • 20 grams butter
  • 160 grams Steviala Dark Chocolate Melties

Preparation

Making low carb and sugarfree Snickers

Sugarfree nougat

First, start with the nougat layer of the low carb and sugarfree Snickers. Take a bowl and mix Heavenly Dark, peanut butter, vanilla extract, cream, and a pinch of salt until you have a smooth mixture. Melt the butter in a saucepan and let it cool slightly. Then add it to the sugarfree nougat and stir it into the mixture. Line a baking dish with parchment paper (tip: wet the parchment paper) and spread the nougat in the dish. Refrigerate the nougat for at least 2 hours.

Making sugarfree caramel

Finally, we start on the sugarfree caramel layer. First, melt the butter over low heat in a small saucepan. Meanwhile, mix all the other ingredients in a small bowl. When the butter has melted, slowly and steadily pour the other ingredients into the melted butter while stirring constantly. Continue to stir well for 15 minutes while the caramel simmers.

The sugarfree caramel sauce should thicken as it cooks. When the sauce has thickened, remove the saucepan from the heat. Then keep stirring as the caramel sauce cools. Pour the sauce over the nougat layer and place the baking dish in the refrigerator for at least half an hour. Now, return the baking dish to the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Your low carb and sugarfree Snickers are almost ready!

Making sugarfree chocolate

First, cut the sugarfree nougat/caramel into 10 bars. Then melt the butter with sugarfree chocolate in a saucepan. At last, dip the bars into the sugarfree chocolate sauce. Place the bars on parchment paper on a plate and refrigerate them again for at least 2 hours. There you have it, your low carb sugarfree Snickers are now ready!

    Dit is de 2de keer dat ik deze gemaakt heb en mijn collega`s lopen ermee weg. De buren en wat ouderen waar ik wat heen heb gebracht vonden het heerlijk. Mag het vaker maken. Heb alleen vanwege het vervoeren nog kokos bovenop gestrooid wat het nog lekkerder maakt.
