Low carb American pancakes
Who doesn't know them? American pancakes are delicious thick pancakes and are often eaten for breakfast in America. They are quite different from the pancakes that we know in the Netherlands and Belgium. The American pancakes are often a lot smaller, but thicker and fluffy. American pancakes are also much sweeter than the traditional thin pancakes. Unfortunately, the traditional recipe is made with wheat flour and a large amount of sugar, making this treat very high in carbohydrates and sugars. Ingredients
Low carb American pancake batter
- 150 grams Steviala almond flour
- 75 grams Steviala Kristal Sweet Vanilla
- 1 bag of baking powder
- pinch of salt
- 150 ml lactose free milk (or unsweetened almond drink)
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Sugar free topping tips
- Steviala Oh' Choc! chocolate topping
- fresh fruit like strawberries or blueberries
- Steviala Frost
- whipped cream
- melted Steviala Dark Chocolate Melties
- Steviala syrup substitutes: Magical Maple, Heavenly Dark, Caramel Crush, Pure Passion or Supreme Strawberry to taste

Preparation
Making low carb American pancakes
Making these delicious low carb American pancakes is not difficult. First, add all the ingredients to a large mixing bowl. You will then mix this well with a whisk. Then keep stirring until there are no more lumps in the pancake batter. Is the batter still too liquid? Then add some extra Steviala low carb almond flour. The batter should have the texture of pudding. Now heat a pan and spread some oil in it. You can also use cooking spray for this. Then turn the heat lower while baking. As a result, the heat is more evenly distributed and the pancakes bake more evenly. Then spread the batter in the pan with a spoon. Let it cook until bubbles form in the batter. Then divide another half spoon of batter on the pancake, wait a while and then turn the pancake over. Then repeat for all 15 pancakes.

Smaak is goed, maar pancakes gaan kapot
Written by Annet on 5-01-2025De pannenkoekjes drogen van binnen niet op waardoor ik ze niet kan draaien, maar als ik ze nog langer laat bakken wordt de onderkant zwart. Omdat ik toch benieuwd was naar de smaak heb ik er een soort Kaiserschmarrn van gemaakt. De smaak is echt goed. -
