These low-carb sausage rolls have a delicious dough of mozzarella, Steviala almond flour and cream cheese. Ideal and delicious for on the road or at home as a snack, at any time of the day! Making sausage rolls is very simple, very tasty and they are low in carbohydrates! Just make them yourself now and enjoy!

Ingredients

Low-carb sausage roll dough

  • 150 grams of grated mozzarella
  • 1 egg
  • 30 grams of cream cheese
  • 70 grams of Steviala almond flour
  • olive oil (for greasing)

Keto sausage roll filling

  • one onion
  • 300 grams of minced beef
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 15 grams of sambal
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons Steviala almond flour
  • 1 pinch or teaspoon of salt
  • 1 egg yolk (for brushing)

Baking supplies

Preparation

Making low-carb sausage rolls

First preheat the oven to 220°C. Take the mozzarella and cream cheese and combine them in a microwave-safe bowl. Then melt this in the microwave on full power for about 30 seconds. Then add the egg and almond flour. Knead it together well. If it remains too firm, melt it in the microwave for another 30 seconds. 

Then grease 2 sheets of baking paper with olive oil. Place the dough on 1 sheet of baking paper and then place the other sheet of baking paper over it. Take a rolling pin and roll it out into a large rectangle. Roll out in such a way that 6 squares (puff pastry) of approximately 10 cm can easily be removed. Then bake this for 8 minutes in the preheated oven.


Make filling low-carb sausage rolls

In the meantime, we continue with the filling of the low-carb sausage rolls. Start by grating 1 onion on the smallest setting, so very finely ground. Then place the minced meat in a mixing bowl and add the grated onion, including liquid. Then add the rest of the ingredients except the egg yolk. Mix this together until you get a smooth mixture. Then make 6 equal sausages and fry them briefly in the pan so that they sear.

Then remove the dough from the oven and let it cool slightly. Then divide it into 6 equal squares. In the meantime, set the oven to 180°C to bake the low-carb sausage rolls.

Now divide the minced meat mixture onto the puff pastry squares on 1 side and fold the other side around it. Press well with a fork.  Then brush all the sausage rolls with the egg yolk. Now bake the low-carb sausage rolls for 10-15 minutes until they are golden brown. Enjoy your meal!

    Amandelmeel op 220 graden is een no go.Deeg is keihard en niet op te rollen,dus een grote bende tijdens het afbakken.Zonde van alle ingrediënten.

    Misschien is het een tip om erbij te zetten hoe dik die vierkanten moeten worden? Het deeg 8 minuten in de oven komt er veel te hard uit, waardoor je het niet meer kan vouwen! Een vierkant met als voorbeeld een bladerdeeg, 6 vierkanten? Nee sorry die komen er echt niet uit. Graag tips om dit wel te krijgen, want de smaak is heel goed

    Deeg paste niet goed dicht, volgende x dubbel portie deeg en 8 rolletjes. Maar ze smaakten heerlijk!

    Het is even wennen, zeker het raspen van de ui hhh. Enige nadeeltje vind ik dat ik niet de vulling binnen de 8 min (terwijl brood in over ligt) klaar heb zoals in recept omschreven staat. Maar ze worden vol lof gegeten. Zeer smakelijk.
